    G-JJIL Extra 300L for sale – SOLD

    This exceptional aircraft built in 2007 has a total time of 370:00 hrs, expiry of ARC is 18th December 2015. The annual inspection is due in March and will be done prior to the sale. Propeller and CSU overhauled (due every 6 yrs) and is valid till March 2020.

    6 months check carried out October 2015.

    Annual maintenance carried out at the Extra factory with the ARC issued by Brooklands Engineering Sywell since new.

    New seat belts fitted 2013. Teflon hoses fitted therefore not due change until engine overhaul.

    The optional lexan FOD tray is fitted along with cabin heating. Garmin 430 (8.33 kHz) GPS/NAV/Comm with ILS indicator along with Garmin 327 mode S transponder fitted.

    €230,000 tax paid.

    A well loved Extra 300L, maintained by Brooklands Engineering, Sywell.

    The 1/3rd share (or outright purchase available) is in a well run group (with reserve funds); the aircraft has little annual utilisation (30–40 hours a year currently). Money was lavished on her over the last few years: Nicholson McLaren zero timed engine, prop recently overhauled (inc new hub last time) etc. It had new avionics recently – Garmin 430, Mode S transponder, standby horizon – for someone wanting cross country flying. Nick Peel at Brooklands has maintained the aircraft exclusively since she was owned by Brian Lecomber; currently maintained to the 2Excel maintenance schedule, occasional use by them under lease.

    The other two shareholders fly the aircraft very little, only local flights. The current ownership has been stable for the last 4 years or so. Of the other two shareholders, one is a retired Ryanair pilot (65+) and the other a private pilot with an ex Yak 52 background – nice guys. Generally the aircraft is used for gentle local flights, rolls and the odd loop.

    Take the Extra 300L and add nice refinements and a AEIO-580 engine and you have the 330LC. This aircraft is offered for sale with a TTSN of 157 hrs (as of October 2014).

    The aircraft is in perfect condition, like new, all inspections by Extra company run in the CAMO system of Extra. Only used in advanced category, never flown unlimited, airshow or freestyle, never flown over 2500 rpm. Used by only 2 pilots. First 25 hours, no aerobatics flown. No damage history. First registration 10/2010. Very good equipment. Leather seats, heating system, electric pedals, Extra electronic G-meter, original smoke system with suction fill clean system.     Welcome to the World of Extra Aircraft

    Walter Extra – the man behind the legend. Extra Flugzeugbau GmbH was founded in 1980 by Walter Extra at Dinslaken/Schwarze Heide Airport (ICAO: EDLD) near Hünxe, North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. Walter Extra was a noted aerobatic pilot, having taken part in 1982 in the 11th FAI World Aerobatic Championships at Spitzerberg, Austria (the eventual winner was Victor Smolin of the USSR flying a Yak 50). Walter had decided to start designing and building aircraft which would be competitive at the very highest level in aerobatic competitions, and take on such designs as the Russian Yak 50. His Extra 230 was a step in the right direction, but it used a wooden wing similar to that on the French aerobatic aircraft, the Mudry CAP 230.
